You Can Play Backup Games on a Wii?
When I have friends over to play some Nintendo Wii, they always ask me what the blank DVDs next to the system are. I tell them, and I usually get the same response. You can make backup games for the Wii? How do you play them?
I found out that I could unlock Nintendo Wii when the system first came out. I was a little nervous, because most of the tricks back then involved opening the system up and risking your warranty. I also wasn’t sure what you needed to copy games in the first place. I learned that all you really needed was some specific software to backup Wii games. The software works by decrypting the encryption code that comes on game discs to serve as copyright protection. The software uses your computer to create a copy on DVD, and is actually completely legal. I thought that was pretty simple, but I was still unsure of how to make these games play on my system.
After searching, I stumbled upon www.homebreware.com, a site that offers software to unlock Nintendo Wii. Their super easy to use software modified the Wii software to allow backup games to run without a problem. Not only could I play backup games, but I could also play CDs and DVDs on Wii and have a region free Wii. Now I play everything through my Wii, including some nifty japanese games I bought online. I love playing or watching anything on my Wii, and I’m sure that unlocking my Wii console was a great move. I’ve even saved some money thanks to www.homebreware.com. When someone accidently cracked my Mario Kart disc, I didn’t have to drop $50 because I already had it backed up.
